ARTEMIS (Advanced Research and Technology for Embedded Intelligence and Systems) is the European technology platform for embedded computing systems. The ARTEMIS annual work programme for 2008 is the first annual work programme for the ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking.
In order to focus the research, eight sub-programmes have been defined as building blocks. Out of these the following may be of interest to the Highways Agency:
o SP1. Methods and processes for safety-related embedded systems.
o SP3 Smart environments and scalable digital services.
o SP8 Human centric design of embedded systems.
The ARTEMIS call for proposals opened on 8 May 2008 and will close on 3 September 2008. ARTEMIS has an overall funding budget of €35.1m.
