15/9/2008

Source: ERTICO

i-Travel is holding its first workshop in Brussels on 13 November 2008. “i-Travel” is a personal travel assistant service for anyone planning and making a journey – whether a short, regular trip or a longer business or leisure trip.

In developing innovative travel solutions, the main features of i-Travel include:

o        A user front-end that adapts to a user’s fixed or mobile access terminal

o        A context-aware and position aware digital intelligent travel agent

o        An e-marketplace back-end where a community of service and information providers can publish, negotiate and supply their services.

The aim of the workshop is to present the project’s results to the wider travel community and gain feedback on the business process, use cases and architecture suggested to support the i-Travel concept.

Attendance at the workshop is free and open to all companies or organisations involved in travel and traveller services from flight booking to public transport information and ticketing.

Public authorities and companies involved in the travel industry may qualify for funding to attend the workshop by becoming associated partners.
