Following the article in the April newsletter, further information is now available on a workshop on cooperative systems in transport and live demonstrations that will be taking place in Helmond, Netherlands on 14 May 2009. This event will offer the opportunity to experience, through live demonstrations, how cooperative systems developed in the European FP6/7 projects CVIS and SAFESPOT could contribute to safer, smoother and cleaner traffic. During a demonstration drive in one of the cooperative vehicles eight scenarios will be shown, illustrating the potential of cooperative systems.
The workshop aims to explore the benefits that the implementation of cooperative systems can bring for public authorities meeting transport policy objectives. Representatives from policy authorities (local, regional and national), involved in aspects of intelligent transport systems, will express their views, needs and expectations on aspects that should be considered during the development process.
A brochure for the event can be found here.
