A workshop on ITS, Transport Network Modelling & Computing is to be held on 7th April 2009. It will be hosted by InnovITS, the UK centre of excellence for ITS, and will look at traffic data for day-to-day traffic control, network operations and modelling.
There will be a series of short presentations, followed by a workshop discussion on data structure considerations to aid delivery of services to the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) interventions. These interventions cover informed personal travel, informed logistics and informed incident management, and are intended to lead to service innovations. The discussion will address the following questions:
o “How would data structure help to support services to the TSB interventions?
o What problems would standards resolve?
o Where in transport management, modelling and information are standards needed?
o What standards already exist?
o What new standards are needed?
o Data structures
o Data exchange
o Data quality
o Operational procedure/protocols
o Is proof of concept testing required?”
The agenda is available on the innovITS website. To register to attend please contact events@innovits.com quoting the subject as: ‘ITS, Transport Network Modelling’.
